The Conference Series

The “Fokus DaF/DaZ” conference series at GJU has established itself as an international forum for teachers, researchers, PhD candidates, and Master’s students in the MENA/Sudan region, with a focus on German as a foreign and second language. It provides a platform for professional exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the expansion of existing networks of educators, researchers, and students, while also offering opportunities for further education. Since the first conference in March 2019, the series has continuously evolved. Over 140 international university professors from universities in Europe, Asia, (North) Africa, and (South) America have presented current and forward-looking topics on language teaching, language learning research, and language education, as well as projects on international academic cooperation. The more than 60 published articles in the three released conference volumes reflect the broad spectrum of topics and research projects presented and discussed.
