German Jordanian University

The German Jordanian University (GJU) was founded in 2005 based on the model of German universities of applied sciences. The GJU project was initiated through a Royal Decree of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. It is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and coordinated by a planning office at the University of Magdeburg-Stendal.

As the largest German university export project in the Kingdom of Jordan, the GJU currently has nearly 5,000 students, the majority of whom are from Jordan, but also from the MENA region (Middle East/North Africa) and Sudan. Students primarily study natural sciences, engineering, and business administration in 20 programs across 9 faculties.

The GJU has developed into one of the leading universities in the region, particularly due to its strong integration of teaching, practice, and research, as well as its connection to Germany.
